The centre for research, Training and Innovation (CRIT) organized a Two day workshop on Google cloud G Suite on 9th and 10th August 2019 with an aim to make students well versed with the various applications of Google G suite.
The workshop observed the presence of 50 participants including Faculty and students from UG, PG and research Scholars from different institutes of the city. The workshop was divided into eight sessions.
The resource person of the workshop were Mr. Aditya Singh , Chief Information Security Officer, Metacube ,Mr. Karan Sharma, Sr.QA Engg, Metacube. and Mr. James, Data Analyst , Metacube, Jaipur and Prof. Umesh Arya, Professor & Chairman Advertising Management & Public Relations Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hissar.
Mr. Aditya Singh discussed the basics of Google Drive and its application and its significance in day to day work. Hands on interactive session to explain various applications which can be used with G mail including various short cut keys to make work easier & smarter and working of Google docs and Google slides and its use in making work more manageable was taken up by Mr. Karan Sharma. Further, Utility and making of google forms was explained by Mr. Barnabas James.
Prof. Umesh Arya explained the method of offline management of data which in an essential part for researches with the help of data management tool. He also explained the smart and effective way for searching data with power search.
Assignments were also a part of the workshop making it a great learning experience
Day 1: 9th August
• The workshop observed the participation of 50 participants. The workshop was divided into 8 sessions As our tradition, the workshop started with invoking the divine powers by lighting the lamp. Thereafter, a brief introduction about CRIT and the significance of the workshop was given by Prof. K.S. Sharma, Director (CRIT).This was followed by an interaction with Prof. Pradeep Bhatnagar, Dean, Faculty of Science where he elaborated the significance of digitalization with respect to saving paper and conserving nature.
Session I
• After the inaugural ceremony, the first session was taken up by Mr. Aditya Singh from Metacube. Mr. Singh discussed the basics of Google Drive and its application and its significance in day to day work.
Session II
• Session II was conducted by Mr. Karan Sharma. Sr. Engg, from Metacube. Mr. Sharma took a hands on interactive session to explain various applications which can be used with G mail including various short cut keys to make work easier & smarter. He also explained the working of Google docs and its use in making work more manageable.
Session III
• Third session was on Google forms, which in a basic requirement of conducting any research. The session was taken up by Mr. James, Data Analyst from Metacube. He explained the steps involved in making a Google form and in various uses.
Session IV
• The last session of the day was again conducted by Mr. Karan Sharma where he discussed the working of Google slides in an interesting way which can be further used by the participants for presenting their work in an impressive way.
At the end of the day Dr. Amita Sharma discussed the assignments given to the participants with an aim to make them understand the practical application of Google cloud G. Suite.
Day 2: 10th August
• Second day of the workshop started with the discussion and problem solving session taken by Dr. Amita Sharma.
• There after the technical session of the day was taken up by Prof. Umesh Arya. Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hissar conducted very interactive and interesting sessions starting with an enjoyable activity Kahoot. He explained the method of offline management of data which is an essential part for researches.
He also explained the smart and effective way for searching data with power search.
Further to improve upon the workshops to be planned in future, feedback was taken from the participants.
During the valediction session, certificates were distubuted to the participants by Prof. K.S. Sharma,Prof. Pradeep Bhatnagar, Prof. M.K. Sharma and Prok. Umesh Arya.
